The Arabic nation Qatar is all set to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup from November 20, 2022, to December 18, 2022. The 29-day long tournament will feature 32 teams that will be playing 64 matches amongst themself across 8 stadiums in 5 host cities in Qatar. The FIFA World Cups are quadrennial events organized by FIFA wherein national teams of various countries compete to win the trophy. Generally, the tournament was scheduled during the June-July months, however, due to intense heat in Qatar during those months, the matches will be played in the November-December months. In the 2022 FIFA World Cup, 32 teams will take part and these teams in total will play 64 matches across 8 stadiums in Qatar over a period of 29 days. The competition format of the 2022 FIFA World Cup is as such that all 32 teams will be initially divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each and 48 matches will be played during the group stage, each team will get 3 matches to qualify for the advance stage of the tournament. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage which will feature 16 matches that will be played in single-elimination format i.e. losers of any match will be out of contention to win the trophy.
