The 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled from November 20, 2022, to December 18, 2022, and the host for the tournament will be Qatar. The tournament will last for 29 days wherein top national teams from various countries will fight for the FIFA World Cup Trophy. This will be the first-ever FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar and even the first-ever hosted by any Arabic nation. The tournament will be played in two stages, the first being the Group stage while the second or the advance being the Knockout stage. For the group stage, all 32 teams will be divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each, and each team will get 3 matches to qualify for the next stage. Based on the performance in the group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage which will be played in a single-elimination format. The tournament will be played in Qatar and the matches will be played as per Arabia Standard Time (AST) which is three hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) while the time used in Turkey is Turkey Time (TRT) is also three hours ahead of UTC, hence, there is no time difference between Turkey Time and match kick-off time.

The opening match of the 2022 FWC will be played between Qatar and Ecuador at 7:00 PM Turkey Time on November 20, 2022, at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor while the all-important final match between the two semi-final winners will be played on December 18, 2022, at 6:00 PM TRT at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail.
