2022 FIFA World Cup Schedule

The 22nd Edition of the FIFA World Cup will be played between November 20, 2022, to December 18, 2022, the tournament will be hosted by Qatar, it will be the second time that the world cup will be hosted in Asia, previously in 2002, Japan and South Korea co-hosted the tournament. FIFA World Cups are much-awaited and widely followed sporting even across the world.

Generally, FIFA World Cups were hosted during the June-July months, however, due to the intense summer heat of Qatar, the matches will be played in the November-December months. The tournament will last for 29 days wherein 32 teams will take part, and a total of 64 matches will be played across 8 different stadiums in 5 host cities. The matches in the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be played in two stages, the first being the group stage and the second being the knockout stage. During the group stage, a total of 48 matches will be played in a round-robin format while 16 matches will be played in the knockout stage, these matches will be played in a single-elimination format i.e. loser of a match will be out of the world cup.

The matches will kick off as per Arabia Standard Time which is the local time used in Qatar, however, different time zones are in use across the globe which makes it difficult for fans to follow the tournament.
